The Malden Redevelopment Authority (MRA) hired engineers to conduct an assessment of the CBD Garage. The recent assessment identified areas of deteriorated concrete on the underside of the helix ramp and parking decks. Work to remove the deteriorated concrete has begun and is generally being performed weeknights between 6:00 p.m. and midnight and weekends between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. The work is expected to be completed before the end of September, 2019.
Parking spaces immediately beneath and in proximity to the work areas have been cordoned off with barrels, cones and caution tape to prevent cars from parking in those spaces until the deteriorated concrete has been removed. Please DO NOT park in these spaces. As the deteriorated concrete is removed from the affected parking spaces above, the parking spaces below will be re-opened for use.
The garage will remain open while this work is being performed. Please use caution and a reduced speed while traveling through the garage.
We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience. If you have questions or concerns while the work is being performed, contact Susan Hastert, SP+ Parking Senior Manager at 909-969-4192. SP+ Parking manages the off-street parking program on behalf of the MRA.
