Community Input on Open Space and Recreation

Thursday, February 23, 2017

The Malden community is asked to take part in a public forum to learn more about the City’s Open Space and Recreation Plan and to provide input on the plan moving forward. A thirteen (13) member committee will be assisting the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) in updating the City of Malden Open Space and Recreation Plan (OSRP) which was last updated in 2009 and covered the period of 2009-2016. The task of the group will be to determine the City’s park and recreational assets and gather feedback from the community to help guide the City in its future actions regarding open space and recreation planning. The Committee consists of residents, City departments responsible for overseeing and maintaining parks and representatives of organizations and community groups.

The forum is scheduled for March 9, 2017, 6:30 to 8:00 PM at the Salemwood School Cafeteria, 529 Salem Street. Another way  to offer input is through an online survey that is available on the City’s website. The OSRP Committee is asking community groups and organizations to encourage participation in the survey. Please visit to find the survey which will be translated in several languages.
