City and Malden Redevelopment Authority (MRA) officials including Mayor Gary Christenson, MRA Executive Director Deborah Burke, Building Commissioner Nelson Miller, Wire Inspector Mike Crotty, Building Inspector Joe O’Callaghan and City Business Strategy and Development Officer Kevin Duffy attended the "topping off ceremony" at 295 Canal Street, a new office building being developed by Combined Properties, Inc. The building is 67,000 square feet of which 55,000 is leasable. There will be a small retail space as well. The developer is eyeing a March 2018 construction completion date.
The project is adjacent to the Malden Bike Path, also known as the Northern Strand Community Trail, and offers pedestrian accessibility to Malden’s downtown retail and restaurants. The architectural design was performed by Combined Properties’ in-house design department and includes an exterior skin of manufactured stone and glass.
