Mystic Valley Development Commission Approves Plans to Renovate/Expand Property at 359 Commercial Street

Mystic Valley Development Commission (MVDC), the quasi-public entity created to oversee the development of River's Edge, gave site plan review approval--with conditions--for the renovation and expansion of property at 359 Commercial Street. The property, a free-standing commercial property built on-spec and vacant for several years, is within the River's Edge footprint.


The renovation/expansion work will include the construction of an addition of approximately 4,548 square feet of office/classroom/hall space, 1,836 square feet of outdoor playground space and associated site improvements at the property for the operation of a Head Start Program to be run by Action for Boston Community Development.  There will be six classrooms occupied with 120 pre-school aged children.

The MVDC leases the 359 Commercial Street property to 359 Commercial Street LLC of which Marc Gattineri is a principal. The investment in the renovation/expansion is estimated at $1.2 million.
