In accordance with U.S. Dept. of Housing & Urban Development regulations, the City is required to advise residents about the progress of its current federal entitlement programs and prior to drafting the FY17-18 Annual Action Plan, seek input from residents.
 

Beginning July 1, 2017, the City’s CDBG entitlement will be approximately $1.2 million. The City is also the lead member of the North Suburban Consortium, comprised of eight adjoining communities, for the purpose of accessing approximately $1.5 million HOME Program entitlement for affordable housing.

Tuesday February 21, 2017, at 6 P.M., PUBLIC HEARING #1 at Malden Redevelopment Authority Office, 176 Pearl Street, Malden, MA
-Technical assistance on submission of application will be provided, review performance of current year projects, status of Section 108 Loans, and input on housing and community development needs will be obtained. 

 

Thursday February 23, 2017, at 5:30 P.M., PUBLIC HEARING #2 at Malden Redevelopment Authority Office, 176 Pearl Street, Malden, MA
-Technical assistance on submission of application will be provided, review performance of current year projects, and input on housing and community development needs will be obtained.
 

All facilities are handicap accessible. Residents with special needs should call Nick Pernice (781-324-5720 x 5728).
 

CDBG funding applications will be available Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at 12:00 P.M. on the Malden Redevelopment Authority website: www.maldenredevelopment.com, or for pick up at 17 Pleasant Street, 3rd Floor. All applications for CDBG funding shall be submitted to Nick Pernice, Community Development Director, Malden Redevelopment Authority, no later than Tuesday, March 21, 2017, by 5:00 P.M.  Technical assistance is available.
