Frank Stella Mural Ribbon Cutting

Thursday, December 19, 2019

A ribbon cutting was recently held at the Frank Stella Mural on the Centre Street/Route 60 wall of Malden High School.  Frank Stella, a former Maldonian, is a well-known painter, sculptor and printmaker.  His generosity to his hometown continues with this mural at Malden High School, his artwork at the Malden Public Library and the Malden Walks signs that can be found around the City.  This mural is part of the ongoing Malden Arts ARTLine project, supported by the Malden Redevelopment Authority (MRA). The MRA was the first entity to embrace the Malden Arts mural program by allowing a colorful mural featuring the work of former Maldonian Ed Emberley to be installed on the façade of the CBD Garage. That mural sits as a back drop to the recently refurbished FitzGerald Park on Exchange Street.
