River’s Edge: A Mixed Use Project on the Malden River

The Malden Redevelopment Authority is the Project Manager for the River’s Edge Project, a 30 acre mixed use project developed by Preotle Lane & Associates including green office lab buildings, market rate housing, a specialty food market and southern fare bbq restaurant fronting on a 10 acre river park featuring over 1/3 mile of river frontage. River’s Edge continues to be developed in the spirit of “smart growth” guided by the Mystic Valley Development Commission (MVDC). The Cities of Malden, Medford and Everett formed the MVDC to redevelop three adjoining brownfields sites in the three communities.


River’s Edge contains two State-of-the-art LEED Gold Certified office buildings containing a total of approximately 440,000 of rentable square feet. Tenants in the office building known as 200 Rivers Edge Drive include Management Sciences for Health, Marriott International, Financial Recovery Technologies, Physicians Professional Services, LabThink, while Agero, a leader in the roadside assistance and claims management field and its affiliates occupy the entire second office building at 400 Rivers Edge Drive which recently opened. There are also two apartment buildings on the site which were developed by others.


Other on-site amenities includes the Tufts University Boathouse, Freerange, a specialty market and café featuring products sourced from local artisans and specialty producers, and The Porch Southern Fare restaurant.


State-of-the-art LEED Gold Certified office buildings with an aggregate of approximately 440,000 rentable square feet abut the spectacular riverfront Park at River’s Edge.
